Research Interest
Our research has focused on genetic metabolism, including its biochemistry and regulation. We use genetic engineering and metabolic engineering to construct microorganisms to produce pharmaceutical proteins and next generation biofuels. Currently, our projects include engineering proteins, biochemical pathways for CO2 fixation, and production of fuels and chemicals from fatty acids. Our ultimate goal us to use biochemical methods to replace petroleum processing and pharmaceutical proteins production. The key research topics are listed:
1. A novel flocculant design and its application
2. Pharmaceutical proteins production by using Secretory E. coli system
3. High value products production
4. Bacterial mutation system
