Implementation Guidelines for Professor Shan-Ming Chen Scholarship of Department of Chemical Engineering

• 第一條 目的

陳善鳴教授暨其遺族為獎勵本校化學工程系(以下簡稱本系)品學兼優學生，為獎金發放有所遵循，訂定「陳善鳴教授獎學金實施辦法」(以下簡稱本辦法)。

Article 1  Purpose

To encourage outstanding students in the Department of Chemical Engineering (hereinafter referred to as “the Department”) of the University, Professor Shan-Ming Chen and his family have established the Implementation Guidelines for Professor Shan-Ming Chen (hereinafter referred to as “the Guidelines”) to provide a standard for scholarship distribution.

• 第二條 申請條件

一、本系大學部一年級同學。

二、一年級上學期操行成績平均80分以上。

三、一年級上學期學業成績平均為各班前二名且平均A^-（80分）以上。

四、若學業成績相同時，以操行成績決定名次。

Article 2  Eligible Applicants

1.  First-year undergraduate students of the Department.

2.  Students whose average conduct score in the first semester of the first year of study is a score of 80 or above.

3.  Students whose average academic performance is in the top two of their respective classes in the first semester of the first year of study and have an average score of A^- (80) or above.

4. If the academic scores are the same, the ranking will be determined by the conduct scores.

• 第三條獎金分配

本獎學金發放之金額以「陳善鳴教授獎學金基金」之本金與孳息支付，用磬後停止發放。本獎學金各班第一名以參仟元、第二名以貳仟元為限。

Article 3  Scholarship Distribution

The amount of this scholarship will be paid from the principal and accrued interest of the “Professor Shan-Ming Chen Scholarship Fund", and the payment will be discontinued once the fund is depleted. The scholarship is limited to NT$3,000 for the first-ranked student in each class and NT$2,000 for the second-ranked student.

• 第四條 獎金頒發

本系系主任於每學年下學期開學後一個月內，委請各班級導師提出候選人名單，並經由教師評審委員會核定得獎名單及獎學金額度。獲獎訊息公告於系網頁並通知得獎人，另於頒發獎狀，以資鼓勵。

Article 4  Scholarship Awarding

The chair of the Department will request the class advisors to submit a list of candidates within one month after the start of the second semester of each academic year, and the Faculty Evaluation Committee will determine the list of recipients and the amount of scholarships. The award information will be announced on the website of the Department, and the recipients of the scholarships will be notified. A Certificate of Award will also be issued to each recipient as an encouragement.

• 第五條 致感謝函

基於教育上之意義，應請獲本獎學金之同學致感謝函給陳教授遺族。

Article 5  Thank You Letter

In view of the educational significance of this scholarship, students who have been awarded the scholarship will be requested to write a Thank You Letter to the family of Professor Chen.

• 第六條 資訊公布

每次獎學金發放後，化工系教評會委請會計室製作獎學基金收支狀況表；感謝函由本系致送陳教授遺族，並將相關資訊公佈於化工系網頁。

Article 6  Information Release

After each scholarship is awarded, the Faculty Evaluation Committee of the Department of Chemical Engineering will request the Accounting Office to prepare a statement of income and expenditure of the scholarship fund. The Department will present a Thank You Letter to the family of Professor Chen and publish relevant information on the website of the Department of Chemical Engineering.

• 第七條 實施與修訂

本辦法經系務會議通過，陳校長核定後公布實施，修訂時亦同。

Article 7 Implementation and Amendment

These Guidelines shall be promulgated and implemented after the passage of the Department Council Meeting and the approval of the President. The same shall apply to the amendments hereto.
